Multidisciplinary Panel Discussion

Along with Dean Charles Tiffin, and Associate Dean Suzanne Holmes, it was my distinct pleasure to attend a Capella University sponsored panel discussion, held on Friday evening, Oct. 22, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, in conjunction with Capella’s PhD colloquium. The highly informative, multidisciplinary discussion focused on best practices in a hypothetical pandemic crisis – masterfully [...]

All three had multiple stab wounds, multiple injuries signifying a violent struggle…surely the perpetrator or perpetrators could have been injured during the assault leaving blood or other physical evidence at the scene…but nothing was found by [...]

Giving thanks to our soldiers and public safety officers

I had a conversation with a colleague last week concerning her interest in helping provide more robust support for law enforcement officers and their families. Most realize that our officers, and solders, are on the front lines, in harms way and often at risk physically and psychologically. They are working for us 24/7 – 365.
As [...]

Homeland Security concentration

Beginning in January, we will begin offering a new Homeland Security doctoral level concentration. The discussions should be robust around cyber terrorism, bio-terrorism, intelligence analysis and terrorism. The concentration will be available to current MS or PhD learners in any public service leadership program.

Capella University has signed an alliance agreement with FLEOA that provides tuition discounts for all federal law enforcement officers. This is exciting news and complements our existing participation in the FBI’s University Education Program.

Ever have a “duh” moment? It seems to me the older I get, the more of those moments I have. I thought I would share my most recent “duh” moment with you, because it truly relates to public safety. If I do my part of acting on it, and you [...]
