Core Faculty Member, Capella University
Dr. Joseph Pascarella is a core faculty member in Capella University’s School of Human Services. He also serves as a captain in the New York Police Department (NYPD), works for the National Institute of Justice as a consultant, and has been recently appointed a Senior Fellow at the Long Island University Homeland Security Management Institute.
Dr. Pascarella earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Rowan University, a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College, and a PhD in Criminal Justice from the City University of New York (CUNY). In 2003, he spent five months teaching at the National Police College of Finland under a Fulbright Fellowship. In 2004 he began doing consultant work for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) regarding policing research. He has been teaching at the college level since 1999.
