Rebecca L. Smith currently works as the Manager of Emergency Planning and Training for Jefferson County Public Schools, which is the largest county in the State of Colorado with nearly 85,000 children and 12,000 employees. She is a member of the Disaster Assessment Team (DAT) and is a government liaison with Partner Services with the American Red Cross in Denver. Rebecca also holds memberships with the International Association of Emergency Management as well as the Colorado Emergency Managers Association and hopes to join the Incident Management Team, which is one of the few Type 3 teams in the nation. She is the former President of the Denver Infragard Chapter and has been a board member with the chapter since 2004.
Prior to joining Jefferson County Public Schools, Rebecca worked in banking for sixteen years, eleven of those years spent as a criminal bank investigator. She held memberships with several organizations including the American Society for Industrial Security and the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators, where she received Member of the Year award in 2004. Rebecca is currently finishing her undergraduate degree with Capella University in Public Safety specializing in Emergency Management.
